Welcome to Charities of Houston
Charities of Houston founders Dale Baca, a former Air Craft Mechanic for the DEA and wife Olivia Baca, a Banker, wanted to find a way to help Houston area families in need. So they decided to start “Charities of Houston” a 501(c)3 Registered Independent Charity and thrift store dedicated to helping struggling families. Now this charitable organization provides free assistance to hundreds of families in the Houston area each year.
Not only do we help local families in need, but we also provide other important programs to help families continue to improve their lives and pursue careers. With our programs like Dress for Success Program, Resume and Beginner’s Computer Classes, Youth School Business, Home Set-up Program, and Vehicle Maintenance Classes we hope to make a lastling difference in our community.

Our donation pickup service makes donating FAST and EASY
Call us to arrange a pick up time convienient for YOU! A tax receipt will be given at time of pickup – your tax deductable donations will provide assistance to needy Houston Families! All proceeds from vehicles donated to Charities of Houston directly benefit families in need here in our area. And you can be assured of your donation since we are a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. See, we are an actual charity, not a for-profit middle-man like many other car donation centers. This insures the maximum amount of the proceeds from your vehicle donation go directly to those in need, not overhead or outsourcing. The same is true of ALL types of donations made with us; you will receive a tax receipt for your donations and be certain the proceeds will help Houston area families. It's amazing what a difference one person can make, and we thank you for being that person! We cannot accept damaged, non-working, or incomplete items at this time (except vehicles). **No Computer Monitors without full system**

Your purchases at the Charities of Houston thrift store allow us to provide clothing and household essentials to families in need. Our Home set-up program is made possible by your generous donations of clothing, furniture, appliances, left-over garage sale items, home-decor items, utility items and vehicles etc. All of which we collect daily through our prompt and scheduled donation pickup service. .
